Do I need a referral to see a specialist?

With an HMO plan, you need a referral to see a specialist.

What if I want to see a doctor that is out-of-network?

You can choose to see a doctor that is out-of-network, but you will need a referral from your PCP.

Can I choose a separate Part D plan with my Medicare Advantage HMO plan?

You cannot choose a separate Part D plan with a Medicare Advantage HMO plan, since pharmacies are part of the HMO network.

On April 22, 2024, UnitedHealth Group issued a press release, providing an update on the Change Healthcare cybersecurity incident that occurred on Feb. 21, 2024. Given the size of the data impacted, the investigation to determine whose data is impacted is expected to take several months.
